Tiny Pieces...

I've been working on buds. People think I'm crazy or weird (that's the word my grandmother used). But I love those little pieces of fabric. I'm about half way through, then the green part gets added.

The applique provides sanity in a house filled with kids and summer and school books and dishes and the mountain of laundry. I sit and ponder, while stitching tiny buds.

I just read your question on the designers group, about if quilters want to spend time on longer-term projects. My answers is yes! At least in my household. Like you, I have little kids, 3 of them, and it's so much easier for me to pick up my applique and get some stitches done before averting the next disaster lol! I almost never use my machine anymore, I just love the convenience of applique, and also the calming influence it has on me.
